About Me

    I'm a whole food, plant-based mother of 2 dogs and 4 humans. I want to share HEALTHY recipes and resources that have helped me to fully enjoy my 10 year plant-based journey. I am interested in the data and science behind the benefits of plant-based living for our bodies and our environment.  I believe in eating food in its purest form so you will not find many vegan processed food items on my site.  This is not to say that I will never enjoy vegan butter, an Impossible burger, or a Tofurky dog, but I do try to limit it.  I also try to limit sugar of any kind as well as excessive amounts of added oils.  Most of the sweeteners I use come from dates, maple syrup, or simply fruit.  I don't think oil is unhealthy necessarily, but it is calorie dense and I'd rather eat lots more food calories than oil calories. Finally, I am mostly plant based, but will eat seafood on occasion. I am by no means an expert in any field, whether it be cooking or health, and see myself as a perpetual learner.
