I use this basic sauce as a drizzle over just about anything. I especially love it over sautéed veggies and stuffed sweet potatoes. It's also good drizzled over beans and greens. This sauce has a smoky flavor with a hint of cheese. I have just started using more sumac in my cooking and love the extra flavor it adds.
Makes about 1 cup
Ingredients:
3 tbsp tahini (I like Soom or Pepperwood)
1/3 cup nutritional yeast
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp sumac powder (I've been using this one)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4-1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/8-1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Zap all of the ingredients together in a Vitamix or food processor until smooth.
Store in the fridge for up to five days.
