Here are some of my favorite food blogs and nutrition websites.

Favorite Food Blogs

Emilie Eats

This is one of my favorite food blogs. A few of my favorite recipes that I make often from this site are:

Vegan Richa

This is another one of my favorite food blogs. You will find so many wonderful Indian and non-Indian recipes here. Although she uses a lot of ingredients and some harder to find items, she gives you lots of options and most things can be found on Amazon. Her recipes are reliable, tasty, and creative. I have so many favorites (as I own her two cookbooks as well) and many of her cookbook recipes I can’t find on her website, but a few of my tried and true go-to recipes are below:

Simply Quinoa

I really like this young lady and like to follow her lifestyle stories on Instagram as well. I mainly follow her fo her yummy healthy recipes, but I’m also strangely interested in her dog’s problems and her latest apartment decorations. While I get many great ideas and great recipes from her site, the only one I can think of at the moment that I make pretty frequently is the following:

Forks Over Knives

I really like this organization. They recommend a low fat whole food plant-based diet and have a collection of recipes (not always the most flavorful, but some are really good) as well as updates on health and wellness topics. I like their recipe app and I have even signed up for their weekly meal plans just for some good ideas.

I also recommend their documentary, Forks Over Knives.

Health & Wellness Websites

NutritionFacts.Org

This organization is headed by Dr. Michael Gregor who spends his time collecting data/information from all the latest scientific studies dealing with health and wellness. He promotes a whole food plant-based vegan diet based on his research. There is an extensive compilation of scientific data on this website for as many food items as you can think of. You simply type in the food item you are interested in, and almost every study including that item will pop up with Dr. Greger’s interpretation of the study.

I highly recommend Dr. Greger’s Daily Dozen app. I used it for awhile and go back to it every now and then just to check in on myself. This app provides a checklist of Dr. Greger’s recommended daily food items along with how many servings of each. The app links food items to his website, which is basically like linking to an encyclopedia of studies.

I also enjoyed reading Dr. Greger’s book How Not to Die and look forward to reading his latest book How Not to Diet.

PCRM (Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine)

This is a whole food plant-based vegan organization led by Dr. Neil Barnhard. They run a medical practice in DC as well as do research and conduct studies on plant-based diets. Dr. Barnhard often leads the fight for legislative change and has led efforts to eliminate animal testing and, most recently, petitioned that the USDA eliminate dairy from the recommended MyPlate. This organization is one of the leaders in the whole foods  plant-based diet movement and I believe their podcast, The Exam Room, has contributed to their success of late.

Dr. Barnhard has also written numerous books on various health topics. He is perhaps best known for his book Reversing Diabetes and its wonderful companion cookbook.

True Health Initiative

This organization was founded by Dr. Katz, who is amazing. This is more of a website pertaining to the latest news on planetary and human health.

I have enjoyed reading bits of two of Dr. Katz’s books: The Truth About Food and About Food and How to Eat.

Harvard Health Nutrition

This is a great source for nutrition-related topics.
